Peter Kitts, Constable, 1803, Wythe Co., Virginia
Know all men by these presents that we Peter Kitts, Peter Straw and Henry Hopess are held and firmly bound unto John Page Governor of this Commonwealth and his successors in the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars for which payment we bind ourselves our heirs etc forever by these presents sealed with our seal this 12th day of July 1803 __________
The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound Peter Kitts hath at a Court held for the County of Wythe the 15th day of June 1803 been appointed Constable in Capt Kincer's Company. Now if the said Kitts shall well and truly Discharge the Oaths of the Office of constable in the County aforesaid then the above obligation to be void else to remain in full force and virtue. Peter Getz (Kitts), Constable, 1805, Wythe Co., Virginia
Know all men by these presents that we Peter Getz, John Etter and Frederick Moyers are held and firmly bound unto John Page Esquire Governor Virginia and to his successors in the sum of one hundred five hundred dollars to which payment well and truly to be made to the said Governor or to his successors. We bind ourselves our heirs etc firmly by these presents sealed with our seals and dated this 12th day of August AD1805. The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound Peter Getz is by the County Court of Wythe appointed a Constable in Captain George Kinsers Company. If therefore the said Peter Getz shall well and truly Discharge the duties of Constable in the said County of Wythe during the time of his Continuance therein then the above obligation to be void else to remain in full force and virtue.
